OGDEN -- That's a lot of bread -- gingerbread, that is.
The Northern Wasatch Home Builder's Association Gingerbread Parade of Homes raised $1,275 for the association's charitable arm. The auction event took place Thursday during the NWHBA's annual Christmas party.
All proceeds go to the NWHBA Charitable Foundation, a nonprofit established in 2004 to address various needs of the Northern Wasatch community, said NWHBA CEO Warren Wakeland.
Members built 10 homes to display and sell this year, he said.
Creations West, the Clearfield-based architectural firm, took top honors, receiving a bid of $450 for its gingerbread home depicting a barnyard, complete with spotted cow and green tractor.
Creations West was voted the best gingerbread home by more than 180 NWHBA members who attended the event. Martineau Homes, based in Kaysville, won second prize, with Security Title, in Clearfield, capturing third prize.
NWHBA represents more than 270 housing industry businesses employing about 6,000 people in Box Elder, Davis, Morgan and Weber counties.
