SLC police seeking white minivan in fatal bicycle crash

SALT LAKE CITY -- Police in Salt Lake City are looking for the driver of a vehicle seen in the area where a 25-year-old bicyclist was fatally injured in a hit-and-run crash.

Salt Lake City police Lt. Josh Scharman tells KTVX-TV that witnesses saw a newer model white minivan near the scene of the 6:30 p.m. Thursday crash on West California Avenue near Fortune Road.

The injured bicyclist was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name wasn't immediately made public.

Scharman says it's not clear if the minivan was involved in the crash, but he says investigators hope to talk with the driver.
