Hal Olson of Ogden will celebrate his 80th birthday. Family and friends are welcome to attend an open house in his honor from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Ben Lomond Golf Course Clubhouse, 1800 N. Highway 89, Ogden. No gifts.
He was born Dec. 16, 1932, to Ronald and Anita Hess Olson in Ogden. He graduated from Weber High School in 1951. He married Donna Southwick on Sept. 21, 1951, and they had seven children. Their vows were later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before she died on June 11, 2002.
He later married Lanae Jones on March 3, 2005.
He was a brick layer and worked in the construction industry until he retired in 1994. Through the years, he has enjoyed bowling, camping, golfing and spending time with his family.
His children and their spouses are Steve and Janet Olson, Ray Olson (deceased), Randy and Kathy Olson, Duane and Gayleen Olson, Mart and Barbara Olson, Donette Winder and Darla and Mike Shaum. His stepchildren are Rick Jones, Kandee Butters, Russell Jones and Randy Jones.
He has 30 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.
