Gas line repairs delay commute

OGDEN — Emergency repairs of a gas line on 12th Street caused traffic to pile up on the road Tuesday.

Utah Department of Transportation spokesman Vic Saunders said the work closed the road between the Union Pacific Railroad tracks and Wall Avenue entirely for a few hours, but one lane in each direction was maintained throughout most of the day.

Traffic backed up all the way to the Interstate 15 interchange on 12th Street, as well as west of 12th Street in the Ogden Business Depot as motorists attempted to access the road.

Saunders expected the work to be completed in time for this morning’s commute.
