No charges filed in ‘kidnap’ prank

FARMINGTON — The Davis County Attorney’s Office does not plan to file any charges against three Syracuse High School students who offered candy to three 10-year-olds Friday.

Davis County Attorney Troy Rawlings said as far as he knows, at this time his office will not file any charges against the three 16-year-olds.

The Davis County Sheriff’s Office investigated the incident and determined it was a prank.

The teenagers offered three girls candy if they got into their vehicle at 12:30 p.m. Friday, the sheriff’s office said. The girls ran into Lakeside Elementary School and reported the incident.

Davis County sheriff’s deputies found and interviewed the teens. The driver and front passenger of the truck said the passenger in the back seat had nothing to do with the incident, Davis County Sheriff Deputy Scott Harper said.
