Editor, I read the Dec. 13 article, "UEA not pleased with plan," and agreed with the message 100 per cent. My first thought was: Why doesn’t our governor of Utah take his huge 35 percent wage raise and give it to education where it is really needed. What a great message that would be to the people of Utah that he really means what he says. He is not just a politician. When so many people today are out of jobs and crying for help, what a message that sends to all the voters everywhere! I love America, I am grateful to live here. I think our forefathers who fought so hard to make the Constitution and our Bill of Rights equal for all people, would be very disappointed with our political functions today. This is just the opinion of someone who grew up during the depression. I know what it is to go without. I had a father who worked for one dollar a day, with a team of horses. How many people would be happy with that wage today? We felt blessed and were very grateful. Bonnie Clark Ogden
