WOODS CROSS — A south Davis County lawmaker thinks government may have to take a more active role in imposing clean air standards.
State Sen. Todd Weiler, R-Woods Cross, recently said he thinks state or local governments need to consider anti-idling measures in an effort to clean up the air. Weiler represents an area of the county often called “refiner’s alley” because of the five oil refineries within a few miles of each other.
Salt Lake City has imposed idling standards on vehicles, and Syracuse recently implemented idling standards for city vehicles.
