Ogden couple celebrates

70th anniversary

Robert T. and Betty B. Heiner of Ogden celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Dec. 14. They were honored by their family at a luncheon.

Lifelong sweethearts, they were married on Dec. 14, 1942, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple.

The youngest son of Heber J. and Theresa Tribe Heiner, he was born on March 6, 1925, in Ogden. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific during World War II. He began his career in 1951 as a bookkeeper at First Security Bank, retiring as president and chief executive officer on April 30, 1991.

Born on Sept. 11, 1924, to Lawrence W. and Helen Carver Bramwell in Ogden, she attended schools in California and Ogden. She worked briefly for a local physician and First Security Bank, but spent most of her life nurturing their children.

Both have been active in their community. They served in the local chapter of the March of Dimes, Ogden Lions Club, and were active supporters of Weber State College, where he served on the Institutional Council. He was awarded an honorary doctorate degree for his extensive service to the college and in the business community. Their years of service earned them a place on the Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce Wall of Fame in 1992.

Both are 1942 graduates of Ogden High School. They are also members of the LDS Church and have served in many capacities.

Their children are Kathleen and Wayne Hansen, Michael R. Heiner, Joanne Smith, and Karen Anderson. They have 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
