Kenneth and Jody Martin Lovell of Mountain Green celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family on a cruise to Alaska in July.
They were married on Dec. 14, 1962, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple.
He was born in Caliente, Nev., and served an LDS mission to California. He spent his career working as an electrical contractor and made lifetime friends during that time. He has enjoyed working with the scroll saw and has shared his expertise with many friends and family.
He and his wife met at a friend's wedding in Logan and were married six months later. They lived in Clinton for 35 years, where they raised their five children.
She was born and raised in Burley, Idaho, and moved to Ogden to attend college. She enjoyed being a mother and housewife, and says that she was lucky to be able to stay home and raise their children. She enjoyed tole painting, reading and traveling as much as possible.
They enjoy traveling to California to visit two of their daughters and families, and spending time with family and grandchildren.
They served in the Washington D.C. Temple and as workers in the Ogden LDS Temple for about eight years.
Their children and spouses are Lori and Wayne Thomas, Lisa and Todd Moser, Layne and Kim Lovell, Dustin and Laura Lovell, and Mandy and Joe Parry. They have 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
