Jonathan W. and SuzAnn K. Bean of Roy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They will be honored at a private party in Roy.
They were married on Dec. 7, 1962, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 26th ward. Their vows were later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He was born June 27, 1942, in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, to Herbert R. and Naomi K. Bean. In 1960, he joined the Air Force, served as a crew chief until 1964 in the active forces and 13 more years in the Reserve forces. As a convert to the LDS Church, he served in three bishoprics, as a Scoutmaster, high priests leader and many other church callings. He was a volunteer firefighter in Lyman, Maine, and a member of the Civilian Emergency Response Team. He is an active motor sports enthusiast/master technician. He enjoys hunting and camping.
She was born on May 31, 1944, in Whitney, Idaho, to Ralph Francis and Doris S. Komer. She worked for 20 years at Hill Air Force Base. She served in the LDS Church for 40 years as Relief Society president, Young Women's president, in the Relief Society stake presidency, and as a Primary teacher/organist. She teaches quilting classes locally.
Both worked for Supervisory Ship Building for the Navy as contracting officers, and he held the office of AFGE Union president.
Both enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Their children and spouses are Timothy J. Bean, Jeffrey D. and Darlene Bean, Tamara and Jeffrey R. Lane, Allison and Patrick Dunford, and Melissa and Greg Dickson. They have seven grandchildren.
