Weber school buses will wear pink

OGDEN — Kristen Kearl, routing manager for Weber School District Transportation Department, said all 140 of her school buses will be wearing pink ribbons today and Friday, the final two days of school before the holiday break, in memory of Emilie Parker, one of the 20 children killed Friday by a shooter in her Connecticut school.

Parker, who had family in the Ogden area, will be buried in Ogden on Saturday.

In her memory, pink ribbons are adorning streets surrounding Ben Lomond High School, where her parents met.

A public memorial service for Emilie will be held at Ben Lomond at 7 p.m. today.
