Bruce White of Sunset will celebrate his 80th birthday. Family and friends may attend an open house in his honor from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, at the Sunset Room, 1906 W. 1300 North, Sunset. No gifts.
He was born Jan. 2, 1933, to Henry and LaVell White in Lyman. He attended Wayne High School in Bicknell and worked with his father in the timber and sheep herding businesses.He married Laraine Peterson on May 16, 1952, and they had four children.
After serving in the Korean War from 1953 to 1954, he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and then Hill Air Force Base for many years. He was then self-employed as a truck driver until retiring in 1994.
He enjoys golfing, camping, fishing and spending time with family. The couple also enjoys snowbirding in Yuma, Ariz., during the winter and spending time with friends.
His children and their spouses are Lisa Nelson, Evelyn and Jeff King, Gaylene and Brent Burr, and Vern and Mary White.
He has 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
