Rough landing for plane; no injuries

WOODS CROSS — A small plane sustained minor damage during a rough landing Saturday at Skypark Airport in Woods Cross.

The incident happened about 4:30 p.m., said Woods Cross police officer Chris Hoffman.

The single-engine plane was attempting to land, but the landing gear wouldn’t come down. The plane skidded on its belly on the runway and came to a stop.

The plane did not catch fire, but its prop was bent, Hoffman said. The pilot was alone in the aircraft. He was not injured. His name was not released.

The incident will likely be investigated by federal authorities, Hoffman said.
