Layton man enters not guilty pleas to sexual exploitation of minor

FARMINGTON — A Layton man entered not guilty pleas to 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Air Force Staff Sgt. Matthew Kris Harrelson, 35, entered the pleas Thursday in 2nd District Court in Farmington.

A hearing has been set for Feb. 21.

Harrelson was charged through the Attorney General’s office following an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which found evidence that child pornography had been downloaded on his computer at one time.

Harrelson told investigators that he had a friend living with him several years ago and that friend had been convicted of downloading child pornography.
