Sheriff's Office: Woman fabricated stabbing, robbery

WASHINGTON TERRACE — A woman who said she was stabbed and robbed Thursday in Washington Terrace fabricated the incident, according to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident reported by the 35-year-old woman at about 1:45 p.m. as she left a doctor’s office in the vicinity of 5350 S. Adams Parkway didn’t happen, Weber County Sheriff’s Lt. Mark Lowther said.

The woman, who wasn’t identified, admitted to detectives she made the incident up, said Lowther, who did not elaborate on a motive for the fabrication.

The sheriff’s office will not file criminal charges against the woman, he said.
