W. Jordan man posts photos of iPad thief taken by tablet

WEST JORDAN — A man who lost an iPad says the thief showed his face by using the tablet to take pictures of himself.

Those images were automatically uploaded to the owner’s iCloud data storage account.

The Deseret News reports that Andy Jeoni still hasn’t recovered the iPad, which was stolen from his car before Christmas.

But the West Jordan resident posted the suspect’s self-portraits on a Facebook page and says a police officer immediately recognized the man.

The suspect was arrested Saturday on unrelated charges. Bountiful police say the man is a parolee who was picked up for traffic violations using a borrowed car.

West Jordan police are handling the case of the missing iPad. They didn’t immediately return a call Monday from The Associated Press.
