Woman nabbed in search for fugitive

OGDEN — A search for a fugitive led police to arrest a woman for drug possession and fighting with officers.

Ogden Police Lt. Chad Ledford said officers stopped at a room at the Budget Inn looking for the fugitive, but instead found Tashea Rose Cornpeach, 28.

There was also an arrest warrant out on Cornpeach. Meanwhile, during the course of their investigation, police found methamphetamine.

Ledford said Cornpeach tried to fight with the police, and it took several officers to get her under control.

When she was searched at the jail, officers found more drugs on her person, Ledford said.

Police booked Cornpeach into Weber County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, assaulting a police officer and providing contraband in jail.

Officers did not locate the fugitive.
