OGDEN — Ogden Canyon reopened to regular traffic by about 5 a.m. Tuesday.

The mouth of the canyon had been closed to everyone but canyon residents for most of the afternoon and night after a multiple-vehicle crash that knocked down a power lines at about 4 p.m. Monday, Weber County Sheriff’s Lt. Mark Lowther said.

Rocky Mountain Power worked through the night to replace the pole and put up the wires.

The crash occurred near the east-bound temporary traffic signal that protects an Ogden City culinary water project.

Drivers were encouraged to use alternate routes, such as Interstate 84 via State Route 167 at Huntsville, and the North Ogden Divide Highway at North Ogden and Liberty.
