Utah State finishes No. 16 in final AP poll

LOGAN — Utah State finished 16th in the final Associated Press poll following its most successful season in school history.

It is just the third time the Aggies, who went 11-2, ended the season nationally ranked.

Utah State officially joins the Mountain West Conference in July. Though it lost head coach Gary Andersen to a higher-profile job at Wisconsin, it returns 15 starters from a team that won its final seven games, including the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

The Aggies bring back eight starters on offense, including quarterback Chuckie Keeton, and seven on defense.

Utah State set school records for wins (11) and home wins (6) and won only its second-ever bowl game.
