WOODS CROSS -- Police are investigating the shooting of a 25-year-old man in Woods Cross.
The incident happened about 10:40 p.m. Friday at a residence in the vicinity of 1000 South and 500 West, said Wood Cross Police Officer Chris Hoffman.
At least two unidentified males went to the residence, knocked on the door, and asked for a specific individual.
When a man, who answered the door, told the males he didn't know the individual a fight broke out, said Hoffman.
At some point during the altercation, one of the men who went to the house shot the resident who answered the door in the arm.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful and was conscious, breathing and alert upon arrival.
As of early Saturday morning, there were no suspects in the shooting, said Hoffman. Police were interviewing the victim and potential witnesses.
A motive for the shooting hasn't been determined, but it doesn't appear to be random, said Hoffman, who did not elaborate.
