Police seek 3 suspects in Woods Cross shooting

WOODS CROSS — Police are looking for three suspects in the Friday night shooting of a 25-year-old man in Woods Cross.

The incident happened about 10:40 p.m. Friday at a residence in the vicinity of 1000 South and 500 West, said Wood Cross Police Officer Chris Hoffman.

At least three unidentified males went to the residence, knocked on the door and asked for a specific individual.

When a man who answered the door told the three he didn’t know the individual, a fight broke out, said Hoffman.

At one point during the altercation, one of the men who went to the house shot the man who answered the door in the arm.

The victim, who was not identified, was taken by ambulance to Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful and was conscious, breathing and alert upon arrival.

He was in stable condition Saturday.

As of Saturday afternoon, there were no suspects in the shooting, said Hoffman. Police have interviewed witnesses and are planning to interview the victim.

A motive for the shooting hasn’t been determined, but it doesn’t appear to be random, said Hoffman, who did not elaborate.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Woods Cross police at 801-298-6000.
