Fewer drivers on the road meant fewer crashes Saturday than there were on Friday, public safety officials say.
“Fewer motorists were out, meaning that fewer people were involved in crashes in the day’s icy conditions,” the Utah Department of Public Safety said in a news release.
The Utah Highway Patrol responded to 11 incidents in Weber County, 32 in Davis County and three in Box Elder County between midnight and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
Overall, the Highway Patrol responded to 169 weather-related traffic incidents throughout the Wasatch Front Saturday through 3:30 p.m.
Weber County dispatchers reported another 95 weather-related incidents Saturday in Weber and Morgan counties during the same time frame.
In Davis County, dispatchers reported eight weather-related traffic incidents: three in Centerville, two in Farmington, one in Kaysville, one in Sunset and one in Clinton.
Dispatchers in Bountiful reported two accidents there Saturday with no injuries.
A Layton police sergeant said there were two slide-offs with no injuries Saturday.
Two incidents in Box Elder County resulted in property damage.
