Editor,
I am concerned about how far our country is in debt. My grandpa taught me that you only purchase what you can pay for in cash. I feel our country needs to pass a balance budget amendment. A balanced budget is when the state or country cannot spend more than its income. For example, if someone wants to build a building and they have $2 million to spend, they need to stay in that budget. If they can’t, they need to cut some things out to stay within their budget.
The country should only fund things with money it has. If there is not enough money to fund a project then the government needs to take money from one project to complete another one or not do it.
The problem is that if our country can’t afford something, it just borrows money from China so our country keeps getting into more and more dept. I think that our country should stop borrowing money from China and wait to fund projects when it has the money to fund the specific project.
