Evan Murray

Evan Murray of Clinton celebrated his 90th birthday with his family.

He was born on Jan. 7, 1923, in Banida, Idaho, to Thomas and Maude Murray.

He married Rita Kendall on Dec. 27, 1947, in Tacoma, Wash.

He served in the Navy during World War II. He also served in the Navy Reserve. During the start of the Korean War, he was called back into the Navy. He worked at Hill Air Force Base for 28 years in the welding shop and also taught welding at Weber State College for many years. He retired in 1985.

He lived in West Point for 45 years and moved to Clinton in 2005.

Their children and their spouses are Mark and Becky Murray, Jeffrey and Renae Murray, Scott and Trisa Murray, Tyler “J” and Chris Murray, and Robin Nielsen.

He has 28 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
