Pleasant View plans to add equipment to park

PLEASANT VIEW -- Council members approved the purchase of new playground equipment for Pleasant View Park.

The beautification committee recommended the purchase of new playground equipment to make it more user-friendly for children who may be in wheelchairs, specifically by adding something other than sand as a base for the playground equipment.

Paul Ellsworth said there are plans to refurbish the bowery as well, rather than replacing it. He said it is still in pretty good shape.

Ellsworth told the council members to select the playground equipment they would like and showed them brochures of equipment that look like wood, but are not actually made of wood.

Councilman Jerold Burns said he would like to see some playground equipment that fits in with the natural environment around it and would like to see rocks, wood and trees, more natural products as part of the base.
