Special rates for beginner lessons in Utah in January

For those who have wanted to try skiing or snowboarding but found the costs prohibitive, now may be the best time of the year to give it a shot.

Utah’s 14 resorts are joining 33 other states and more than 300 resorts through the end of January to offer special deals for first-time skiers and snowboarders to promote Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month.

Utah resorts have set a goal to give 10,000 beginner lessons by the end of the month. All of the state’s resorts have come up with their own discounted packages combining lessons and lift tickets in an effort to get more people to become regulars on their slopes.

Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month is a national initiative that began in 2008. The program strives to make learning skiing and snowboarding easy, accessible and affordable for children and adults.
