SALT LAKE CITY — Gun advocates rallied here Saturday against stricter limits on firearms. It was reported that they cheered for a proposal to give Utah sole authority to regulate guns in the state.
Several people had assault rifles slung over their shoulders and holstered pistols at their sides. Crowd estimates ranged from 1,000 to 3,000.
The rally was part of a nationwide movement by gun advocates, with rallies being held just after President Barack Obama unveiled a package of federal gun-control proposals.
