MatteucciOn Saturday, Kay Matteucci of Syracuse celebrated her 80th birthday with her family at the Maddox Lodge. Later in the day, she enjoyed cake and ice cream with her extended family.
The first of four children, she was born in Ogden on Jan. 17, 1933, the daughter of Walter and Ada P. Donaldson.
She grew up in South Ogden and graduated from Weber High School in 1951.
She married Alberico “Poly” Matteucci on April 4, 1953. Their vows were later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple. They were married for 57 years. He died on May 18, 2010.
She worked at Hill Air Force Base and the Internal Revenue Service, retiring in 1993.
She has been active in the LDS Church and served in many callings. She was a volunteer at the Ogden Temple and served in the North Carolina Raleigh LDS Mission with her husband. She was a visiting teacher for 44 years.
She enjoys camping, watching the Utah Jazz games and crossword puzzles. Most of all, she enjoys spending time with her family.
Her children and spouses are Debbie and John Jones, Shelley and Bob (deceased) Dockstader, Kathy and Mike Allred, and Julie Flitton. She has 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren with three more on the way.
