Man wins guessing game at ski resort

EDEN — After receiving more than 100 entries, Wolf Mountain has named Gage Miller the winner of the first contest of its kind at the resort.

Miller had the nearest guess in a contest in which participants estimated the depth of a large mound of snow created at the base of the resort last week.

Miller guessed a depth of 26 feet 7 inches. The actual depth Monday morning was 26 feet, 3 inches. Miller’s guess won him a season pass for 2013-14.

Mountain manager Jeff Summers said guesses ranged from 8 feet to 65 feet.
