Man, 20, charged with forging checks

OGDEN — A 20-year-old man is accused of taking at least $5,300 out of his parents’ checking account in October.

Jaime Ismael Diosdado was arrested by Ogden police Saturday and booked in Weber County Jail on 25 counts of forgery.

The Weber County Attorney’s Office filed one count of third-degree felony forgery in 2nd District Court, lumping all the charges into one count.

Ogden Police Lt. Chad Ledford said police received a report that someone had stolen Diosdado’s stepfather’s checkbook.

Police investigated and found that Diosdado had stolen the checkbook and had written at least 25 checks in a short period of time, signing his stepfather’s name and his mother’s name to the checks.
