Police officer retires after 22 years

KAYSVILLE — Officer David Pollard recently retired after 22 1/2 years of service with the city police department.

For 17 of those years, Pollard dedicated his service to working with students in local schools as part of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education — or DARE — program.

Pollard was presented with an outstanding service award at a recent city council meeting at which his service was recognized.

“(His career) has encompassed literally thousands of children that he taught DARE to and talked to about making good choices. (He has) helped build community partnerships with the police department and our future. He has touched many lives in this city,” said Kaysville Police Chief Sol Oberg.
