BURNS, Ore. -- Oregon State Police say troopers who stopped three Utah residents traveling together in central Oregon found 69 pounds of marijuana valued at $170,000.
Lt. Gregg Hastings says troopers stopped two vehicles Wednesday that were traveling together on U.S. Highway 20 about 25 miles east of Burns. A Francis, Utah, woman was driving one and her son was driving another, accompanied by a passenger.
Hastings says the vehicles were stopped for unspecified traffic violations but the investigation, aided by a drug dog, also turned up the pot in large duffel bags.
Hastings said the trio told troopers they were traveling together to Salt Lake City.
Arrested for investigation of unlawful possession and distribution of marijuana were 47-year-old Sandra Tapp, 24-year-old Colby Ray Tapp and 25-year-old Tyson Peterson.
