Northern Utah residents share their slips and falls from the recent ice storm:
Marie Abston Garcia
"The first time I walked outside I was totally unaware of what I was getting into. I slid down my inclining walkway about ten feet until I reached the gate which thankfully brought me to somewhat of a stop. I managed to stay on my feet but when my hubby took a spill in the driveway I couldn't get there to help him up. He "lay there like a slug" so to speak... I looked up to see the neighbor in her window watching with her hands over her mouth... it was quite entertaining I'm sure... "
"Driveway has a six percent slope from garage to street. It took my daughter 3 tries to get from the street to the sidewalk, once on the sidewalk she got on her hands and knees to get up the stairs to the front door. Once she was on porch, she started dancing around and singing, "I'm on top of the world! "

"I am at the Murray IHC hospital with my hubby. The nurse came in last night and said the ER had seen over 300 accidents and most of those are from FALLS. I know it's been terrible. I hope everyone stays safe...."
"Fell and caught myself with one hand, saved my clothes and laptop...crazy!"
George Garwood Jr.
"Slipped in my friends driveway as I was getting in the car one leg in and one out. Glad no one saw me. Hurting today."
Rebecca Ory Hernandez
"I was at the doctor's office and watched a mom and her kids slide down the sidewalk to the bus stop. I also whacked my windshield with a snow shovel to crack the ice that was over 1/4" thick. It worked!"
"I went to pick up my girlfriends son from school at Layton Christian Academy and I set one foot out of the truck on the ground and in a split second was on my butt hard laying on polished wet ice under my truck. My dog also could barely move and stood almost paralyzed with all 4 legs spread out on my driveway just looking at me in the eye like he was saying.."what should I do"?
"Not me. Except the for the ice in my rum and coke that I'm sipping on."
Terri Rippon Sparrow
"I couldn't get my dog to walk to go poop.....his little paws kept slipping....I could barely walk on the sidewalks....unbelievable."
Dana Morgan Pevey
"One of my clients fell in the parking lot where she works. It was a bad fall. She ended up at the doctor who told her she should rest for a week. She is at work today because she can't afford to not work."
