OGDEN — A 29-year-old woman is accused of holding a knife to the throat of a woman who had tried to help her.
Now, Crystal June Walker is facing aggravated kidnapping charges, said Ogden Police Lt. Danielle Croyle.
Walker walked into traffic at 26th Street and Wall Avenue on Thursday.
“She approached a driver and asked for a ride, and the woman said, yes,” Croyle said.
After they had gone a few blocks south on Wall Avenue, the driver told Walker she needed to get out of the car, Croyle said.
“That is when (Walker) pulled out a knife and held it to the woman’s throat and told her they were going back into Ogden,” Croyle said.
Walker finally got out of the car in North Ogden, and then a man offered to give her a ride.
“After a few blocks, he felt something was weird and he called police,” Croyle said.
By then, the woman who originally gave Walker a ride had also called police.
Police picked up Walker and took her to the police station, where the woman driver “positively ID’d her,” Croyle said.
Walker was then booked in Weber County Jail on aggravated kidnapping charges and is being held in lieu of a $20,000 bail.
