Gun control means more freedoms lost

A number of years ago, while living in Dayton, Ohio, my late wife and I hosted Brazilian students in our home for the summer. Upon returning home from our community pool one evening one of our students, Odi, asked, “How dare you call yourselves the land of the free?” She then went on to point out that we had laws or regulations for everything!
Today, there is a great debate raging over “gun control.” While the culture certainly needs to take action to reduce violence in our society, I, for one, am against the government’s taking away any more of my freedoms and rights! There are better ways to solve the problem.
