Felipe and Maria Rivera of Clinton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Family and friends will honor them at a private party on Saturday, Feb. 2.
They were married in Manhattan, N.Y., Feb. 2, 1963. Their vows were later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Washington D.C. Temple.
He was born to Celestino Rivera and Maria Marrero and raised in Aibonito, Puerto Rico. He was a head chef at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia for 27 years. He now enjoys helping family and friends with any and all projects needed.
She was born to Antonio and Rosa Cruz and raised in Aibonito, Puerto Rico. While caring for her children as a stay-at-home mom, she also provided daycare for many years. She then worked at Ehmke's Daycare Center for six years. She now enjoys spoiling her grandchildren.
Active in the LDS Church, they have served in numerous capacities. They have served as temple workers in the Ogden and Washington D.C. temples and are currently serving as welfare service missionaries in Ogden.
Their children are Myrna and Thomas Triano of Cherry Hill, N.J.; Evelyn and Kevin Tuckett of Bartlesville, Okla.; Eileen and Gary Anderson of Roy; and Cathy and Brian Tolman of West Haven.
They have 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.
