Man arrested for auto burglaries after west Weber party

WARREN — As Denzel Swinton, 20, left a party on Dec. 14, sheriff’s deputies say he raided the vehicles of his fellow party-goers.

Weber County Sheriff’s Lt. Mark Lowther said Swinton stole some tools and is accused of stealing a firearm from one of the vehicles he broke into on 5500 West, near Warren in an unincorporated area of the county.

Lowther said the sheriff’s office recovered the tools, but was unable to find the firearm.

Swinton was booked into Weber County Jail on Tuesday on suspicion of a second-degree felony count of theft of a firearm, two third-degree felony counts of theft and two class A misdemeanor counts of vehicle burglary.
