OGDEN -- Utah will have a new Miss Rodeo Utah as of Tuesday.
Makenzie Maughan, 21, of Hooper, will be named Miss Rodeo Utah 2013 in a ceremony beginning at 6 p.m. at the Timbermine Restaurant, 1701 Park Blvd.
Maughan will take the place of Chenae Shiner, who was named Miss Rodeo America in December.
According to information sent out by the Miss Rodeo Utah committee, naming Maughan Miss Rodeo Utah now will give her 11 months to reign.
The tradition of naming Miss Rodeo Utah in July at the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo will change to a system of crowning the new queen in January after the reigning queen returns from the Miss Rodeo America pageant.
Maughan was chosen for the honor because she placed as the first attendant to Shiner in July.
