WELLSVILLE -- Five people, including an infant, escaped injury Saturday when their single-engine plane crashed in a field near Wellsville.
The mishap occurred around 1:30 p.m., according to a news release from the Cache County Sheriff's Office.
The pilot, Lynn Goodsell of Cache County, reported he had taken off from the Logan, Cache airport 30 minutes before experiencing engine problems.
Goodsell landed in an open field covered in about 2 feet of snow. As he was making the landing, the front wheel dug into the ground, causing the plane to flip over onto its top.
Home owners in the area responded with snowmobiles to assist.
