CENTERVILLE -- A man driving a motor home is in custody after a police pursuit Saturday night that began near Centerville and ended in Salt Lake County.
The chase started about 6:15 p.m. A Davis County sheriff's deputy attempted to stop the RV on Interstate 15 for a traffic violation but the driver did not yield, the Utah Highway Patrol said.
The deputy followed the motor home into Salt Lake County, where UHP troopers set up spikes on the 5300 South off-ramp. The motor home avoided the spikes and crashed at low speed into a vehicle at the bottom of the ramp.
The driver, later identified as Micahel Webb, 27, refused to come out of the vehicle. A patrol dog was deployed to remove Webb and a Taser was used to get him to comply. He was booked into Davis County Jail on charges of possession, driving under the influence and failure to stop.
Officers said the license plates on the motor home came from another vehicle.
