UCAT sees record rate of completions

Utah College of Applied Technology announced it has reached a record rate of program completions and job placements in 2012.

Applied technology campuses, such as Ogden/Weber Applied Technology College, reported 87 percent of students who completed certificate programs were hired in their field or placed in additional education during 2012, according to annual statistics.

The figures exceed a national accreditation standard of 70 percent, with 81 percent of enrolled students completing their programs, a

6 percent increase from 2011.

As a condition of continuing accreditation, the eight applied technology college campuses in Utah must meet annual performance standards for program completion, job placement and licensure established by the Council on Occupational Education, a national agency that accredits career and technical institutions.
