Erva Barker Kunzler of Ogden celebrated her 85th birthday at a family dinner on Feb. 2 at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Trolley Square.
She was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Ogden to Wilford and Eva Barker. She married Floyd Kunzler on Nov. 10, 1947, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple. Her husband died April 27, 2011.
She graduated from Weber High School, where she was a majorette. She has been active in the LDS Church and served in many callings, such as Primary president, stake Primary counselor and Relief Society counselor. She served as a temple worker at the Ogden Temple with her husband, and a was state legislative district chairperson. She was a vocal soloist, and her singing touched many lives throughout the years. She enjoys reading, gardening and spending time with family. She has provided child care in her home, managed rental properties for many years and worked at various jobs.
Her children and spouses are Read Kunzler (deceased), Gloria and Craig (deceased) Olson, Ron and Debra Kunzler, Arlo and Jill Kunzler, Sean and Shannon Kunzler, Michael and Christie Kunzler, Sue Ann and Ken Burton, and Jed and Jennifer Kunzler.
She has 40 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
