SALT LAKE CITY — A tax incentive to encourage businesses to hire the homeless has been sent to the Senate for further consideration.
The House voted 41-23 Monday to move HB 29 to move forward. The legislation, sponsored by Rep. Brian King, D-Salt Lake City, would create a tax incentive of up to $2,000 for a business that hires a homeless person.
