OGDEN -- In the final year of the Bracketbusters, the Wildcats will be headed to Tulsa.
Weber State will take on Oral Roberts in an ESPN Ramada Bracketbusters game. The Wildcats and Golden Eagles will meet on Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m. in Tulsa, Okla.
Matchups for the 122 teams participating in the 11th annual Bracketbusters were announced Monday. Utah State will host Illinois State on the same night.
Weber State currently sits at 15-4 overall, 10-2 in Big Sky play, heading into a four-game homestand.
The Wildcats have won 10 straight conference games in each of the past seven years, all under coach Randy Rahe. WSU is the first team in Big Sky history to accomplish that feat.
Oral Roberts is 14-8 overall and is 9-1 in Southland Conference games, currently tied for first in the league standings. The Golden Eagles have won six straight and nine of their last 10 games.
They are led by senior Warren Niles who is 23rd in the nation in scoring at 19.2 points per game. ORU is coached by Scott Sutton who is in his 12th season as head coach. He is the son of legendary college basketball coach Eddie Sutton.
As part of the Bracketbusters agreement, Oral Roberts will play a return game in Ogden in 2013-14.
This will be the fifth matchup ever between the two schools with the all-time series tied 2-2.
This will be the fourth season Weber State has played in the Bracketbusters. The Wildcats lost their first two games at Boise State in 2005 and at San Jose State in 2011. Weber State defeated UT Arlington 72-70 in Ogden last season in a game that was televised nationally on ESPN3.
Other Big Sky Bracketbusters matchups include Montana at Davidson, North Dakota at Nebraska-Omaha, Northern Arizona at Hawaii, Northern Colorado at UC Davis, Sacramento State at UC Santa Barbara, Sam Houston State at Eastern Washington, Idaho at Idaho State, Cal State Northridge at Southern Utah, UC Riverside at Portland State and South Dakota at Montana State.
Utah State improved its overall record to 16-5 overall and its Western Athletic Conference ledger to 7-4 with a pair of road wins over the weekend. The Aggies are 5-2 overall in Bracketbusters through the years.
Illinois State is 13-10 overall, 4-7 in MVC action. The Redbirds and Aggies will be meeting for the sixth time, with ISU leading the all-time series 3-2.
