Wilma Marsh Grandy Brewer of Ogden will celebrate her 80th birthday. Family and friends are welcome to attend an open house in her honor from 2 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 9 at the Ogden Marriott Hotel, Aspen/Jupiter Room, 247 24th St., Ogden. No gifts.

She was born Feb. 9, 1933, in Denver to George and Vera Gosnell Brewer. She married Clinton E. Grandy on Dec. 1, 1951, in Paris, Idaho.

She is the fourth of eight children. She moved to Ogden when she was age 18.

She worked for Western Union and was a waitress for many restaurants in the Ogden area, where she made many friends. She received a certified nursing assistant license in 1982. She worked as a CNA and home care health aide for Weber County Home Care and Intermountain Healthcare. She also volunteered at Lincoln Elementary School and head start as part of the grandparent in the school program. She enjoyed helping the children.

She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is a member of a Wii bowling team, attends a swimming aerobic class, plays cards with friends, enjoys meeting new people and going to the movies. Her children and spouses are Kristene Uram, Colleen and Alan Glass, Charlotte and Randy Kunz, and Craig Grandy (deceased). She has six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
