OGDEN -- Fire crews responded to a structure fire early Tuesday morning at 2687 Jefferson Ave.
According to Ogden Fire Department Deputy Chief Eric Bauman, as crews arrived they reported heavy fire in the basement apartment and the fire had already burned through the floor and impinged on the main story level of the home.
The fire was controlled within 20 minutes from the exterior, then crews immediately made entry and performed salvage and overhaul activities, Bauman's release reported.
The structure was recently renovated and the owner was attempting to bring in potential renters, according to the report.
Damage is extensive and estimated at $130,000.
Firefighters from Ogden City Fire Department and Roy Fire Department responded with three ladder trucks, one engine, one paramedic rescue one battalion chief, and one ambulance. A total of 19 firefighters responded to the scene, according to the report.
There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is unknown and the fire is currently under investigation by the office of the Ogden City Fire Department Fire Marshal.
