SALT LAKE CITY — Rep. Paul Ray’s bill allowing veterans to gain college credit for skills learned in the military is one step closer to reality.
Ray, R-Clinton, is the sponsor of HB 254, which passed the House on Tuesday by a unanimous vote. It now goes to the Senate.
Ray said the bill ensures that credits granted to a veteran for service or skills attained in the military are transferable from one Utah school to another. He praised Weber State Universityas being one of the leaders in the state in dealing with the issue.
