OGDEN -- Fire crews responded to a structure fire early Tuesday morning at 2687 Jefferson Ave.
According to Ogden Fire Department Deputy Chief Eric Bauman, as crews arrived they reported heavy smoke in the basement apartment and the fire had already burned through the floor and impinged on the main story level of the home.
The fire was controlled within 20 minutes from the exterior, then crews immediately made entry and performed salvage and overhaul activities.
Damage is extensive and estimated at $130,000.
Firefighters from Ogden City Fire Department and Roy Fire Department responded. A total of 19 firefighters responded to the scene, according to the report.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and the fire is currently under investigation.
