Patricia Lasater of Farr West will celebrate her 80th birthday. Family and friends may attend an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 16 at her home, 2170 N. Heritage Drive. No gifts.
Born in Brigham City on Feb. 18, 1933, to Eldred and Ruth Peterson, she attended Box Elder County schools, graduating from Box Elder High School.
She married Robert Donald Lasater on Dec. 24, 1950. After living in Germany where he was stationed in the Army, they made their home in Roy in 1963. Their vows were solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ogden Temple. He died June 29, 2005.
A member of the LDS Church, she served in many callings: Relief Society, visiting teacher and Primary while living in Roy. She worked for American Greeting Cards in 1979 and with the Weber County Recorder’s Office, retiring in 1997.
Her hobbies were genealogy research. She enjoyed seeing and studying the church’s historical sites. Her favorite trip was when she visited Israel, Rome and Egypt, touring the biblical sites.
She says the most amazing part of her life was the 46 years that she cared for her son, Guy Lasater, who had Infantile Muscular Atrophy. He died April 17, 2011.
She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, getting out and seeing the country, doing crosswords, puzzles and watching the Utah Jazz games.
Her sons and spouses are Donnie and Connie Lasater, Jeff Lasater, and Brad and Holly Lasater. She has eight grandchildren (one deceased) and eight great-grandchildren.
