Man found on fire at Provo 7-Eleven dies

SALT LAKE CITY — A man who was found on fire outside a convenience store in Provo has succumbed to his injuries at the University Hospital burn unit.

A hospital spokeswoman says 22-year-old Orem resident Sean Ryan Romero was pronounced dead about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Provo police say Romero suffered burns when a trash bin fire Monday at a 7-Eleven spread to him.

Authorities say people from nearby businesses tried to put him out with extinguishers.

Provo police are investigating the fire, but don’t know what caused the blaze or if it was set intentionally.
